Our professionals have first-hand experience in senior management and executive-level positions within the mining industry, with many having run mines themselves. They are familiar with the intricacies of project development, financing, mergers, acquisitions and privatisations and therefore can easily highlight strengths and weaknesses of such areas. Our Associates have international reach, giving them practical and insightful knowledge and skills not only with respect to the minerals in question but also in the regions in which they exist. Mr. Bernard J. Guarnera has been with the Behre Dolbear Group Inc. since 1991 and currently serves as a Principal, Partner, and Board Member. He has more than 40 years of international experience with mining and consulting firms. His experience includes valuations of developed and undeveloped mineral properties, negotiations for sales and acquisitions, structuring of mineral development and lease agreements, economic geology, providing expert witness testimonies on mineral property values, and holding senior-level management positions in exploration and development with multiple US natural resource companies. Mr. Guarnera’s valuation expertise spans all commodities and geographic areas– with recent emphasis on base and precious metals and past emphasis on energy minerals. He is a Certified Mineral Appraiser, Professional Engineer, Registered Professional Geologist, “Competent Person” in Australia, “Qualified Person” in Canada, Qualified Professional Member of MMSA, and a Chartered Professional (Geology) of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mr. Guarnera received both his B.S. in Geological Engineering and M.S. in Economic Geology from Michigan Technological University.

Mr Robert Hansen is Senior Managing Director of Behre Dolbear for the group’s activities in the Eurasia Africa Region and is a member of the Board of Directors. He has over 25 year’s experience covering roles in project and construction management for greenfield and brownfield mining projects, including due-diligence, independent engineer, independent technical reports, feasibility studies and EPCM roles. Mr Hansen has experience in development projects for antimony, copper, zinc, cobalt, gold, silver, platinum, phosphate, bauxite/alumina/aluminium, uranium, iron ore and steel projects. These projects have been undertaken in countries across the region including Bahrain, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia. Prior to joining Behre Dolbear he worked for large engineering and construction companies in Africa and Europe including Techpro Mining and Metallurgy, IMC, Kaiser Engineers, Hatch Associates and Bechtel.

Mr. H John Head has been with Behre Dolbear since 2010 and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. He has international experience in Africa, Latin America, Asia, North America, and Australia; where he has successfully worked with mine operations, mining engineering, surface underground mine feasibility studies, mine management and engineering, corporate and financial issues, mine safety and health, regulatory affairs, and consulting research services. His 40 years in the minerals industry have made him internationally recognized as a mine health and safety expert. He has been instrumental in drafting and implementing corporate safety policies and managing mine safety programs. He has been consulted on safety and health reviews and mine health and safety regulations and has provided expert testimony on mining safety and health issues. Mr. Head’s specific expertise include underground and surface mine planning, ore reserves analysis, mine and tunnel ventilation, mine safety and health issues, litigation support, and compliance audits. Mr. Head is a registered Professional Engineering, Chartered Engineer, OSHA and an MSHA certified trainer, and has a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency in Tasmania, Australia. He is a member of the Safety and Health Committees for the National Mining Association, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, Industrial Minerals Association of North America, and Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers. Mr. Head has a B.S degree in Mining Engineering from the Royal School of Mines, and a MBA Management from Cranfield Institute of Technology.

Mr. Wyatt has been with Behre Dolbear since 2007 and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. During his time with Behre Dolbear he held number of roles including Vice President Behre Dolbear USA; Asia; and Company Inc. He has been involved in the international mining industry for more than 25 years; with operational and management experience with a variety of industrial and conventional minerals and since 2014 is an instructor at the South Dakota School of Mines. His experience includes North and South America, Australia, Africa, Asia and the seabed deposit in the Pacific Ocean. He is a Certified Mineral Appraiser, “Competent Person” in Australia, “Qualified Person” in Canada, Qualified Professional Member of MMSA and a Registered Member of SME. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BS in Mineral Engineering and holds an MBA and an MS Engineering Management degrees from California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo and an MS in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines.

Mr. Lachlan Broadfoot – Lachlan has been on the Board of Behre Dolbear since 2018, he has a deep understanding of the mining business and its role in the global economy from his background in engineering, commodities marketing and management. He was co-founder and CEO of Salva Resources, a 250 personnel team of technical and commercial experts that operated across six countries. Post the sale of Salva to US engineering firm HDR, Broadfoot managed their global mining market sector. He has also worked for Anglo American (Australia), Rio Tinto (Australia), HDR (New York) and EAS Capital Advisory (New York).
